2019 Airwallex University of Melbourne Endeavour Awards

The Airwallex Endeavour Awards look to inspire the next generation of engineering and technology entrepreneurs. Since 2015, Airwallex has grown rapidly due to its focus on providing the best customer-centric technology solutions to clients. We are proud that we have been able to make doing global business easier for our stakeholders and recognise that our successes have stemmed from our people and their entrepreneurial mindsets.

Endeavour is a celebration of student innovation and inspires the next generation of students to contribute to solving real-world problems of today, and in the future. Coupled with Airwallex’s drive for innovation, we are proud to present three awards valued at $2000 for each of the following categories:

Customer-Centric Technology Award

This award recognises projects that are customer-centric in their design and acknowledges the specific needs of their stakeholder / end-user group.

Judging criteria

  1. How has the project team demonstrated customer-centric design in the delivery of the project?
  2. How did you consult or consider your key stakeholders needs in the design and delivery process?
  3. What benefits did this process provide to the final output created?

Enhancing the Australian Economy through Innovation Award

This award recognises projects that could be leveraged beyond Endeavour to further drive growth within the Australian and global economy.

Judging criteria

  1. How could your project provide financial benefit to the Australian economy? Consider this as either a direct result of your project, its commercialisation or efficiencies created through the adoption of your project.

Enhancing Social Impact through Innovation Award

This award recognises projects that provide a positive social impact through their design and delivery.

Judging criteria

  1. How will your project impact society? This could include impact on health, socioeconomic benefits to users, positive societal behavioural shifts, etc.

Awards process and timeline

Date Application and judging procedure
By 5:00pm Monday 9 September Applications for the award close.
Monday 23 September Airwallex selects and confirms 3–5 project groups as finalists for each award.
Thursday 24 October Airwallex judging of finalist teams at their display booths. 10 minutes in total for each project group. Each project group will be asked to deliver the following:
  • A 3-minute pitch in regards to their project
  • Respond to questions during 5-minute Q&A time
Thursday 24 October Winners announced at the Endeavour Awards Night.
