About the award

The Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST) is the international professional body and learned society for all marine professionals.

The IMarEST Endeavour Award, established in 2015, will consist of one first prize of $2,000 to one final-year student project team participating in the Endeavour Exhibition.

The winning project teams will demonstrate the applications of their projects in hydrodynamics, marine engineering, oceanography or fluid mechanics. The award is open to project teams from any discipline.

Students must demonstrate how the outcomes of their project will benefit these disciplines if the project does not directly involve those disciplines.

Date Application and judging procedure
By 5:00pm Monday 10 September
  • Project teams submit application.
  • A maximum two-page response (plus relevant appendices) to the prize judging criteria, using the 2018 Endeavour IMarEST Award application form.
  • Application submitted in PDF format team via email to endeavour-mse@unimelb.edu.au.
Friday 21 September Judging panel to shortlist projects. Shortlisted projects notified to assist with preparation for the exhibition.
Thursday 18 October Shortlisted teams present their project to the judging panel at their Endeavour project display.
Thursday 18 October Winners announced at the Endeavour Awards Night.
