The Endeavour Awards Night is your chance to earn recognition for your hard work. There are multiple prizes to be won. Find out what you could be eligible for.

The Endeavour Awards Night

The Endeavour Awards celebrate the Departmental Awards, Industry Awards and People's Choice Award and are presented at the Endeavour Awards night on the evening of the Endeavour Exhibition.

This exciting event takes place after the Endeavour Exhibition on Wednesday 22 May.

The Departmental Awards are presented to the top project in each discipline, while other prizes and awards require a separate applications to be eligible. There are many fantastic prizes and awards on offer, and we encourage students to apply.

Prize Money: $2,000 winner (per department)

The Industry Awards application process relies on the student’s ability to communicate their project's progress and how their project meet the goals of the award, so it's important that students follow the application process and relate their project to the topic.

Telstra Endeavour Prizes

Telstra Corporation Limited Telstra is Australia’s leading telecommunications and technology company, offering a full range of communications services and competing in all telecommunications markets. In Australia Telstra provide 18.8 million retail mobile services, 3.8 million retail fixed bundles and standalone data services and 960,000 retail fixed standalone voice services.

Telstra has invested $5.14 million to support Melbourne Connect, the new digital innovation precinct at the University of Melbourne. Telstra will help develop Australia’s pipeline of diverse technology talent through this partnership with the University of Melbourne, including sponsorship of the Telstra Creator Space at Melbourne Connect. This collaboration was designed to help current and future students develop the skills, experience and adaptability needed to succeed as Australia’s digital economy accelerates.

To continue to inspire the next generation of engineering and technology entrepreneurs, Telstra is proud to present the 2024 Telstra Endeavour Awards with three awards valued at up to $5000 for each of the following award categories:

1.  Telstra Data, AI and Insights Excellence Award

The Telstra Data, AI and Insights Excellence Award acknowledges exceptional achievements in utilising data to gain valuable insights and make informed decisions. This award celebrates the extraction, analysis, and interpretation of data to drive meaningful outcomes. By showing commitment to leveraging data as a strategic asset, they have demonstrated a profound understanding of its potential to drive growth, insights and innovation.

2. Telstra Tech Breakthrough and Community Impact Award

Telstra’s purpose is to build a connected future so everyone can thrive, and that means doing the right thing for the broader community, and operating in a way that earns and deserves trust. The Tech Breakthrough and Community Impact Award highlights your ability to embrace cutting-edge advancements and pioneering solutions in the pursuit of excellence. Through a willingness to take risks and innovate, you have demonstrated a unique approach that breaks through traditional barriers to build a solution that will inspire and bring about a positive change in the lives of the people it impacts.

Boeing Endeavour Award

Boeing is the world's largest aerospace company and leading manufacturer of commercial jetliners and defense, space and security systems.

The Endeavour 2024 Boeing Prize is awarded to a student project group participating in the 2024 Endeavour Engineering & IT Exhibition.

The prize is looking for a project group that offers an innovative approach in providing a solution(s) to challenging problems relatable to the following topics:

  • Aerospace – flight and/or air, aerodynamics, planes, drones, helicopters, space
  • Mechanical – motors, engines
  • Energy conversion – electrical systems, chemical, combustion, battery, solar
  • Software – security systems, networks, systems, programs, tracking GPS devices, autonomous systems

Prize money: $5000

Award process and Timelines

Monday 26 February 2024

Applications for the award will commence.

Friday 12 April 2024

Applications for the award close.

Tuesday 16 – Wednesday 24 April 2024

Judges will select and confirm 3-4 project groups as finalists for each award.

Wednesday 22 May 2024

Endeavour Awards Night

Judging of finalist teams at their display booths:

  • 10-minutes in total for each project group.

Each project group will be asked to deliver the following:

  1. A 3-minute pitch about their project
  2. Respond to questions during 5-minute Q&A time

People's Choice Award

Nominate your favourite project and go in the draw to win with the People’s Choice Award. Visit the in-person or online exhibition and scan your favourite project’s QR code to submit your vote. You can only vote once and we’ll be announcing the winner at the Endeavour Awards Night.

Voting is only open during the exhibition! 

Project students, Endeavour volunteers, Endeavour Ambassadors and industry sponsors and partners participating in Endeavour are not permitted to vote.

Discipline Awards

The recipients of the Discipline Awards will be acknowledged at the Endeavour Awards Night.

The winning projects will receive prize money to be split amongst team members evenly. Funds for the awards have been generously bestowed from the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology Foundation.

The Foundation provides ongoing scholarships and awards based on academic merit and need. The Foundation is focused on generating financial and community support through relationships with industry, alumni and other groups that are interested in supporting the student experience at the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology.

Discipline Awards will be presented across the following disciplines (these disciplines are subject to change due to participation within each area).

  • Biomedical Engineering Discipline Award
  • Chemical Engineering Discipline Award
  • Computing and Information Systems Engineering Discipline Award
  • Electrical and Electronic Engineering Discipline Award
  • Infrastructure Engineering Discipline Award
  • Mechanical Engineering Discipline Award
